WELLNESS IMPORTANCE

 

Here at Dinsdales wellbeing of everyone is very important to us so we thought we'd start a wellness series. We will try and cover tips to help mental wellness in this fast moving world of today. 

The Power of Decluttering

We know letting go of some of your belongings can be hard, but it is a great way to give your home some love and help your mind at the same time. Decluttering is all about rediscovery, you'll find things you love and make you happy. 

We suggest putting your favourite music on, grab a hydrating drink and start on a small area, this maybe a storage cupboard for example. Once you've decided on a starting point, you will want to create a keep pile, a donation pile and a rubbish pile. 

 How can decluttering have a positive effect on your mental health? 

  • Reduce Stress - Clutter can cause stress so by letting go of unnecessary items can reduce your stress. Reducing your stress can also help you sleep better. 
  • Give you a sense of Fulfillment - By setting yourself a target and achieving it can really help self confidence and your sense of fulfillment. 
  • Improve Focus - Your mind will be fixed on organising and decision making. Even if you decide to keep a lot of the items you will know which area it is in.
  • Enjoyment - Often when you declutter you find items that hold emotion and value. For example a random family photo. 

 

Once you're finished always remember another persons rubbish can be another person treasure so can it be donated?
